Kilkenny Arts Festival celebrates 35th birthday with biggest festival yet!

09 August 2008

Kilkenny Arts Festival in 2008 presents the biggest and most exciting line-up in its 35 year history. The ten-day festival presents more than 100 events in theatre, literature, film, visual art and children’s activities, as well as a greatly expanded programme of free street events, the biggest literature programme yet and “Wired”, an exciting new music strand featuring some of the top names in international contemporary music. In all, a total of 300 international and Irish artists, 200 local volunteers, 75 staff and 35 venues combine to make this the biggest and, hopefully, the best festival yet. Ticket sales are exceeding previous years, with many events already selling out. Event information and tickets are available from the festival box office at the St Francis Abbey Brewery, Parliament Street (opposite Rothe House), tel (056) 7752175 and www.kilkennyarts.ie
